Pro-Bind for dog's loose stools with pancreatitis and kidney issues?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 14 years and 11 months old | 28 lbs

Hi. My 14 year old mixed breed has chronic pancreatitis. Confirmed with bloods. And also some kidney problems. She's under vetinerary care, but would you prescribe Pro-Bind (40% fat) for loose stools? It's not helping. I understand there are other reasons and underlying kidney weakness now. I have found a prebiotic binder with no fat. It helps. I would just like to know if you would prescribe pro-bind under the circumstances. Thanks.

I have not personally used or prescribed Pro-Bind, but it looks similar to a product I use commonly in pancreatitis patients with diarrhea called Pro-Pectalin. Generally, we avoid fats in dogs with pancreatitis. If you are simply wanting a pre/probiotic product, powders will contain less fats and should be appropriate to use.
