My dog has a belly rash, but no ticks. Could it be a black fly bite?

My dog has this rash on her belly. I didn’t see any ticks on her at all recently. She has tick preventatives every month also. I believe it could be a black fly bite(I saw images online). Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 3 years and 4 months old | 11 lbs

You are right, it could be black fly bites, it is the season for it and they can cause lesions like this. Unfortunately without seeing Sophie in person, I cannot make a definitive diagnosis. I would take her into the vet in the morning to have this diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.
