Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | neutered | 7 years and 11 months old | 19 lbs
Hi, so it's not really a health problem. my lovely soon to be 8 years old Jack Russell has a lot of energy and always "asks" us to play with him. But lately, he gets tired and sleeps all day long after our walks (we throw him some oranges out the grove and he runs like hell to fetch it). He looks so happy doing that and really wants it, but afterwards he looks so down. So I guess my question is what is the best way to get him to lose all this energy without wearig him out completely?

Given that this is a change to his behavior a quick check up to rule out underlying medical causes such as heart disease or early arthritis would be recommended. If all clear then limiting the exercise to 50-60% of the current time and reducing the intensity by throwing them less far should keep him interested and excited without tiring him completely
