Why are my dog's teeth chipped or worn? Is his new food causing it?

Why do his teeth look like that? What could’ve caused it? Is a nutrition deficiency? He’s on hills. Was switched to it 3 weeks ago from diamond. We have a vet appt later today. Would just like to know ahead of time. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years and 2 months old | 20.08 lbs
