My dog's third eyelid is red when he sleeps. Is it cherry eye?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 5 months old

Are eyes normal or infected as shown in photo? When ever he lies down to sleep I see third eye lid easily red in color and whenever he sits on two legs it dont appear kindly see the both photos to judge.. he dont squint or rub but only rub when I put eye drops will this gonna clear up itself if there's and infection also..is this a sign of cherry eye or normal infection

This looks normal to me. When dogs are tired or drifting off to sleep its common to see the third eyelid. When he is sitting up and awake, the normal appearance confirms this is normal. It is not cherry eye. Is he having any discharge from his eyes? If so, he may have an infection or some allergies that are making it more prominent. If he is having discharge from his eyes or they seem to be bothering him, take him in to your vet. Otherwise, there isn't cause for concern.
