Why did my cockatiel stop singing and start screaming and biting?

My cockatiel lost his ability to sing. I was playing video games and was petting him and all of a sudden he started biting my ear. I screamed since it hurt and he kept on doin it alongside screaming. Now he doesnt sing nor responds or looks at me when i speak to him, he just screams and i dont know why. Please help. Pet's info: Bird | Cockatiel | Male | 8 months and 24 days old
