My dog has hair loss, raw peeling skin, and pain. What can I do?

Port is losing his hair in mass, and his skin is peeling away and turning raw etc. It is on his neck, back, and stomach. He's indoor only, and everything for him is hypoallergenic. No fleas. When I touch him he cowers or his tail goes rigid horizontal and trembles. His vet can't see him until Monday! What can I do? Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 18 lbs

I'm so sorry that this is happening to Port. Unfortunately we cannot give you advice on what to do for him without knowing the underlying cause of his issue. It is possible that his symptoms stem from an underlying autoimmune disorder so you have to be careful what you give him. I suggest you either wait for the vet exam on Monday or find another vet to take him to that can see him sooner.
