My senior dog's tooth fell out and won't stop bleeding. What to do?

Pet's info: Dog | Basset Hound | Female | 16 years and 6 months old

I have a 16yr old Basset Hound she has a tooth that has come out and the bleeding isn't stopping . Is there something i can do here at home like a rinse or cotton ?

You can stuff a little bit of gauze into the hole to stop the bleeding, if Abby lets you. The tooth may have come out due to a tooth root abscess, or it may havee broken off or damaged the bone in which the tooth was sitting. I suggest you make an appointment with your vet to have her teeth and gums checked. If the bleeding does not stop shortly after putting the gauze into the cavity, or if Abby does not let you near the mouth, you should take her to the vet today to stop the bleeding.
