My dog mated but isn't pregnant. What are the causes and solutions?

I have a GSD/Doberman mix which doesn't give birth after mating.What are the possible causes and solutions to this?

There are a couple of reasons why Bambi isn't getting pregnant. The most common cause is bad timing, not mating at the optimal timing during her heat cycle. The best time to mate a female dog is from 9-14 days of her heat cycle. Other causes include a failure to ovulate, cycle normally, refusing to accept a mate, an inability to conceive, or an inability to maintain the pregnancy. First step is to have her seen by a vet to make sure everything is normal reproductively. I'd make an appointment to have her seen by a vet sometime soon to discuss her problem with getting pregnancy. Best of luck!
