Diabetic cat throwing up, grinding teeth, licking walls: Crisis?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 14 lbs

I have an 11 year old male diabetic cat. He’s on 4 units of insulin twice daily. Otherwise healthy. He’s been throwing up partially digested food but he’s still hungry. Urinating normally but also grinding his teeth and trying to lick walls and sheets.

This could be due to a diabetic crisis, i strongly recommend taking him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked, he will need a blood test of course to monitor his blood glucose levels which might be too high.
