Crested gecko care: Food, age, tongue flicking, and handling tips?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

how will my crested gecko find his food? Is there any way to know the age of the crested gecko? I dont know if this is normal: my crested gecko will flick her toung out about every 30 seconds (not consistantly. just an estamint. cuz sometimes she doesnt do it but once for 15 mins.) Sorry, one last thing.. how often and long should i hold my crestie? she is about half size of a full grown, maybe slightly smaller stoumach wise. Thanks so much for your help! (can i ask tons of qs in 1 message?)

Hello, here is a link to care sheet for crested geckos. I suggest you read it carefully and make sure you are doing everything correct with regards to husbandry. I think this will answer most of your questions but if not, feel free to post again. ( http://www.reptilesmagazine.com/Care-Sheets/Lizards/Crested-Gecko/ ) You cannot tell their age unless you know when they were born. Short of that all you can do is guess based on size.
