I am so sorry to hear that Suzie isn’t feeling well. Anytime I see a dog with brownish nasal discharge I worry about a few things. I have seen it be the first sign of aspiration pneumonia, even before coughing. I have seen it be irritation to the nasal passages from a vomiting event that went up into the nasal passages, and I have also seen it with canine distemper and other upper respiratory diseases. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian soon. You may want to check for a fever as well. A normal rectal temperature on a dog is up to 102. Monitor for any other symptoms such as nausea or cough. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
