Is my puppy's red eye from pokes? And why aren't his back teeth out?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Shiba Inu | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 15 days old | 28 lbs

So I have a shiba inu and I would go pet him almost every 10 minutes everyday.Sometimes I would accidentally point him in the eyes when I pet him on the head and face.I was wondering if my fingers getting into his eyes would hurt him or his eyes in any way because his eyes are getting a little red in the corners of his eye. Also I was wondering if the tooth in Hachi's mouth all the way in th back would fall out because he's 7 months and he only lose the teeth in front.

Hello. Do not worry about accidentally & occasionally poking Hachi in the eye, they have a protective third eyelid that protects the eye. If the deciduous cap on the molar in the back has not come off, it will soon. Do not worry about this either. Make sure at Hachi's next veterinary visit you ask that a good oral exam is done.
