Is it true hamsters need nail trims, or can I do it myself?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Female | 2 years and 3 months old | 5 lbs

Me and my friends both have hamsters. And she told me that I have to get my hamsters nails and toenails clipped at the vet is that true or not?

Look at your hamster's nails, and if they look very long or are curling over then, yes they would need to be clipped. You can clip the nails yourself. Here is a little video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MB7SmnY3Xyc
