Is it safe to clean my dog's green eye discharge with salt water?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years old | 50 lbs

My pitbull is always got green slim in the mornings in both eyes, sometimes its dry or slimy . Is it ok if i clean it with salt water?

I woulIt sounds as your dog is suffering from an eye infection, it is relatively common in dogs. you will need to take him to the vet the first chance you get, the vet will check the eyes, if it is indeed a simple eye infection your vet will prescribe an antibiotic eye drops that will probably solve the problem in no time.d not recommend to clean it with salt water.

    Hi, to gently wipe your dog’s eyes you could used plain boiled water (when cooled down) or camomile tea (always cool) and clean it 3-4 times a day. I would get some money together to have him checked over as greenish discharge can be a sign of infection and with eyes t is always better to get on top of the problem sooner rather than later. Hope this helps !
