Why won't my senior cat pee in her litter box but still poops there?

my cat is a female and she is spayed, she is roughly 14 years old but for about 7 years she has not liked to pee in her litter box.. only pee. she poops in it but doesnt pee. so now she lives in a cage when were not home... Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There are a few things you can try here. It may be that Kasey does not like the litter in her litter box as much for urination so you may change that to a different litter material/type. Another thing you can do is use a product called Feliway which can help resolve some of these issues if they are behavioral in nature. You may find that online. It has been going on for so long that I think a medical issue is less likely. Good luck and have a great day!
