Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 2 years and 3 months old | 56 lbs
Hello, I texted you about my dogs tongue looking slightly pale. It went completely back to normal after a couple days. However yesterday, she got very anxious in the car. This is normal for her. She was freaking out so bad she sounded like she was hyperventilating while panting. I noticed her tongue looked like it had a slight purple tint to it but wasn't sure. Gums normal. Once we got out of car everything was fine. Am I just overthinking things or should I get blood work?

Hello. This sounds like a mild hypoxic episode from hyperventilating. It is probably a normal response for your dog. If at her last veterinary visit everything checked out normal ( normal heart rate, pulses, gum color & no murmur detected ), then I would just assume that this was related to her panic, If, however, it has been more than a year since she was examined, then I would take her in. She may not need blood work, but a good physical exam can rule out many things Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
