My puppy ran out of BARF food, can I give kibble? What's on her tummy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Toy Poodle | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 22 days old

I give my pup BARF food, but I just realized I ran out and I don't know if it's okay to give her kibble (taste of the wild puppies) for her morning meal and then go on as normal. Will one meal affect her or is it okay? I don't know if I still have time to order and get it today. One more thing, A vet noticed this on Mozza's tummy, before I go to her vet I wanna have an idea of what it could be and the potential severity of it. Thank you very much.

If she has eaten it before, she may be okay with the one feeding. If not, the sudden change may cause some gastrointestinal upset. Mozza may have some localized skin infection on her belly. It is fairly common in puppies. Monitor for spread or resolution. Keep the area clean and dry. This can be done using pet wipes or plain, unscented baby wipes. See your vet if you notice redness, licking, itching, discharge or spread.
