My puppy ate a pillow, now throwing up yellow bile. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 11 days old | 38 lbs

Our 3 month old German Shepard puppy got ahold of my pillow Sunday and ripped it up, and it wasn’t until his I picked up his poop that I realized he may have ate some. He went again last night and released some more of it but his poop this morning was normal and healthy. He was fine all day but he just now started throwing up yellow bile out of nowhere. Could there be something wrong with him still or could this be an entirely different issue.

Thank you for posting the question about Link. While it is certainly possible that this is a new issue I think it is likely related to the stuffing consumption. At his age he can become dehydrated and very sick quickly, so I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. An x-ray will likely be recommended to look for signs of an obstruction. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
