My old cat with kidney disease is vomiting blood. Is it an emergency?

Hello, my 16 year old cat who has early kidney disease is vomiting a little more frequently. Her vet prescribed her nausea pills that I give her every other night, but I forgot last night. She has vomited clear liquid 3 times so far today, and the most recent one had a little bit of blood in it. This is the first time I've seen that, and I was wondering if I should take her to the vet immediately. Thank you!

Poor Josie! I would make sure she is on an antacid daily. The blood could be just secondary to a little esophageal irritation but it can also be due to stomach ulcers. Since this is the first time you’ve noticed this then I would take her in to be checked out and make sure her kidney values haven’t gotten worse. Your vet may also want to start her on some sucralfate to help coat her esophagus and stomach. I hope this helps.
