Pet's info: Dog | Yorkshire Terrier | Male | unneutered | 11 months and 28 days old | 5 lbs
I took my almost 1 year old Yorkie with me for a walk and when I was resting I noticed he was eating some small black and red ants ( not fire ants ) . Then he threw up like twice but hasn’t since then . I took him a shower to get rid of the small ants on his hair . He seems down and not active .

I recommend rinsing out his mouth to make sure there are no ants still in the mouth. Give him Benadryl also. There is a section on this website that has information about common over the counter medications and the dosage. Keep him up and moving. If he’s getting worse then he may be having a serious allergic reaction and may need veterinary treatment. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Rusty.
