Why is my outdoor female cat in heat getting beaten up by a male?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 lbs

My almost one year old cat (who also lives outside mostly) is constantly getting beat up by a male cat. She is in heat but also doesnt want to mate. And this male cat wont go away because whines for second then the male cat looses his cool then she runs away. The male cat got so obsessed that once he beat her up very badly. He follows her constantly I dont know what’s going she doesnt want to go back insidr either im just very confused and dont k ow what to do?

I am sorry to hear that. You may consider keeping her indoors or otherwise confined in a safe place until her heat cycle is over . Another option is to have her spayed. Cat fights will still happen if she’s spayed but hopefully not at bad and hopefully this male cat won’t be bothering her as much. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
