Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Male | neutered | 13 years and 3 months old | 14 lbs
I have a very independent, 13 year old, and a bit grouchy domestic long hair cat. I am getting a new kitten but can't decide which it will be more accepting of. Would my current cat be more likely to accept a female kitten that is said to get along with other cats great, or two twin male kittens that also get along with other cats okay.

Adding a female kitten is probably better than having three males. Also two kittens may be too much of an upset for your older boy. The extra stress could cause behavioral problems such as inappropriate urination or over grooming. I always prefer not getting two animals from the same litter since they tend to bond to one another rather than people. Have fun with your new addition but don’t forget to pay special attention to Elliott too. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Elliott.
