Dog crying, vomiting bone pieces after eating. What's wrong?

I have a dog and he is crying and throwing up. I am so worried. He had a bone and in he vomit he is throwing up little pieces of it. I am so worried, please help me!

Poor Nico! It sounds like the bone has made him sick, and I would be very concerned that a piece of it could be stuck in his GI tract or perforated his GI tract. Given he is crying and throwing up with pieces of bone in it, I feel it's best he sees a vet immediately. He needs an exam and x-rays to see if the bone is causing an obstruction. If it is, he will need surgery to remove it. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck!

He could indeed have something stuck in his throat I strongly recommend getting him in to see your vet immediately. It sounds like he's trying to move whatever is stuck and not having much success. He needs to be seen before he hurts himself.

If you have an emergency vet available in your area, I would strongly recommend getting him seen right away. Keep him warm, keep him hydrated by offering low sodium chicken broth, ice cubes to lick and get him seen the second you can. And make sure to submit the vet bill to whoever fed him bones and people food. It may not do any good, but it may make them more aware of the consequences of feeding pets something they shouldn't have.

This is very serious and he needs immediate veterinary attention. The bones are probably still in his stomach and intestinal tract and the diarrhea can quickly result in dehydration. Many dogs also get pancreatitis from eating rich, fatty foods. He will need fluids, an X-ray to determine where the bones are, and possibly surgery. My dog ate rib bones and he needed to be hospitalized and the bones surgically removed. Again this can become life threatening quickly so please take him in for treat soon. My dog ate a ostrech bone and a few minutes after that ended up throwing up blood. The next day he had a loss of appertite and ended up vomating again (not blood this time) . He is walking and acting normal but he just does not want to eat.
Poor Aj! I would recommend taking him to the vet today for an exam, as from your description I'm concerned that he may have an intestinal blockage or some damage to his stomach or intestines from the bone. Your veterinarian can take x-rays to assess the situation and see what needs to be done.

Poor Lucky! From your description of the way he's acting, I would be concerned that he the bone may have become stuck in his stomach or intestines, so I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian as soon as possible for an exam and x-rays. If the bone is causing blockage or has perforated the stomach or intestines, he will need emergency surgery to remove it and repair the damage.

My 8month old dog is vomiting mucus that is bright orange/red. She has eaten a smoked pork bone dog bones for a few days. Could this be why? Could it be blood? I don't smell blood in the mucus.
Yes, this could be blood, and Savi has to see a vet immediately. She could be experiencing a perforation of her GI tract from the bone, or she could have an obstruction from it. This is a medical emergency, and she needs an x-ray to see if the bone has caused an obstruction, as well as a physical exam, blood tests, and a urinalysis. Please take Savi into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see her ASAP.

Poor guy. It sounds like Riley is having classic signs of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, which is likely caused by the bones or something else he ingested. It is best to get him to your vet as soon as you can. However, if there is no one available today and he otherwise seems to be pretty energetic and isn't continuing to vomit, then you can do some things for now to help calm his stomach down. 1) Bland diet- boiled plain chicken or lean ground turkey and white rice 2) Fiber- 1-2 tsp of canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) added to his food daily to help firm things up 3) Probiotic- over the counter Culturelle or Fortiflora (available online) added to his food daily to help resotre his normal GI flora. When pets have blood in the stool this indicates their intestines are inflammed and the GI flora is imbalanced. If Riley seems to ill however, taking him to an ER vet today is highly recommended. I am very sorry to hear about Tomy. If he truly has bones stuck in his throat this is a medical emergency and he needs to go to the vet immediately. They can sedate him and try to manually remove the bones, which requires a delicate hand as damage to the esophagus can be very dangerous. Sometimes dogs can also have vomiting or retching when something like a bone is in the stomach, which also needs veterinary attention.

Keep an eye on Dobby. As long as he's keeping his food down, keep feeding him and offering him plenty of water. Give him half a slice of whole wheat bread with each meal. This may form a ball of ingesta around the bones, and cushion them as they pass through the GI tract. If he continues vomiting, there is blood in his vomit or feces, he becomes lethargic, and/or he stops eating, he needs to see a vet immediately. In that case, find an ER vet or a vet on call. It sounds like Jax is certainly not feeling well. It may or may not have anything to do with the bone. Depending on what type of bone it was and if he actually ingested it, there are a few possibilities. If he bit off pieces of bones that may be in his GI tract, he may be painful , have an obstruction and could have an infection. If it was a marrow bone, those can be very rich and fatty and cause an upset stomach that can be severe. We can also see bacterial infections or contaminated bones. And again, what is going on with him may not have anything to do with the bone. Unfortunately, it's impossible to know what is going on without more information. I would recommend starting with having your veterinarian examine him to determine if he is running a fever and if his belly hurts. They may also need to check some blood work or take x-rays depending on what they find on exam. It sounds like Jax is really not feeling well, and I do not expect that he will get better without addit
