My dog's paw pads are dry. Moisturizers aren't helping. Is it fungus?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 4 years old | 165 lbs

What’s wrong with her foot pads?? I’ve used moisturizers like paw pad and it’s not helping. Is it a fungus? What will help? Should I cut it off? Use peroxide?

IT seems to be affecting her nails, i suspect it might be a fungal infection, you will need to take her to the vet in order to get it checked and treated, do not use peroxide, do not cut it, get it diagnosed and treated properly by your vet.

Thanks for using PetCoach! This may be due to the paw pads being too dry. You can use something to moisturize them a bit. I like a product called Musher's secret but there are plenty others in the market. If this does not improve despite that, I would recommend you have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Here below is a link where you can find the product for your convenience. Best of luck!
