My puppy was hit by car, peeing blood. Does he need emergency vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Airedale Terrier | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 11 days old | 25 lbs

My neighbors puppy ( 5-6 months old ) got hit by a car . He was roaming out of his mouth and it was difficult for him to breath , like their was a rattle in his throat . I then got him and set him down and he got up fine in about 5 minutes . Then stared peeing blood and now when you pick him up he cry’s and try’s to bite you out of pain . Do you think he will make it without medical attention ?

I would strongly urge you to get Rosco in to be seen immediately by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. He may have an internal bleed, trauma to his kidneys, airway damage, etc. that could progress and worsen leading to death. If you can get him in right away, I would do so so that he has the best chance possible to pull through.
