I am doing a report on hypnotherapy for animals. I was wondering what is supposed to be gained from using this as a medical treatment for pets, and if a degree or license was needed to practice this. Also, is it recommended by veterinarians? My apologies as I misspelled hypnotherapy in my first question.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. There are no scientific or veterinary reviewed papers that I can find saying that hypnotherapy is an effective treatment for any medical conditions in animals. In some situations music or background noise has been shown to help anxious animals but I do not believe there is any evidence that hypnotherapy benefits pets.
