What food is best for my overweight, neutered, indoor cat's health?

I recently got my cat (4yrs old) nuetered and the Vet told me that he is overweight. Currently he weighs about 15lbs. He has always been a house cat and that is not going to change. I try to take him on walks but he rarely wants to go. I have always fed him Meow Mix and would like to know what brand cat food I should switch to , so that he will live a long healthy life without intestinal problems. The Vet said that if kept on high protien diet, he will get ghoul stones?? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 4 years old

It is the Science Diet metabolic weight management diet. If you wish to not use a weight loss diet then any of the Science Diet foods for adult cats would be great for him.
