My dog still has worms after deworming. Should I give another dose?

My chihuahua has worms in his poop, I gave him half of a Bayer quad dewormer pill about two weeks ago but he is still showing signs of worms? Should I retreat and give him the other half of the pill? Thank you. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | 5 lbs

Hi. Poor Gizmo. It is important to have fecal sample tested and get an exact answer of what the parasite is. It could be the over the counter medication doesn't cover the particular parasite. It is also common that the over the counter medications fail at treatment. I suggest you get a proper prescription from your veterinarian.
