My dog ate chicken skin & peace lily. Can I give her Mylanta for upset stomach?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Female | spayed | 40 lbs

We gave my dog some chicken and there was a little bit of skin with that right after her regular meal tonight. She ate the chicken excessively fast which I think led to her initial stomach upset. And then after that I noticed she started eating a few beliefs off of a peace Lily plant. I took her outside and she began to eat grass so I definitely know it's an upset stomach and I can hear like a rumbling is it safe to give her Mylanta? I have been in constant contact & she has not vomited

Hi. Thank you for using PetCoach. I'm sorry Sriracha isn't feeling well. In general, we do not recommend any table food for dogs. Fat, skin and seasonings can cause GI upset and even pancreatitis in some dogs. Peace Lily can also be toxic to animals, so I would remove this plant to where she doesn't have access. http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/poison/mauna-loa-peace-lily/ I do no recommend mylanta. Allow her to have water but no food for ~12 hours, then offer her half of her normal dog food. If she tolerates that well, then she can have the rest of her food a couple hours later. If she has vomitting, excessive diarrhea or acts lethargic then she should be seen by a veterinarian for treatment. I hope she's back to normal quickly.
