My dog limps after exercise. Are joint supplements safe to buy online?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | neutered | 92 lbs

I just started trying to bike with my 4yr. Old rotti to get out that extra energy. Now I noticed that he has a slight limp on back left side. Some ladies in my dog walking class recommended giving him NUTRI-VET for hips and joints and Duralactin for inflammation. What would u recommend.....should I order these products on line? Thank you!

Handsome boy! Those are good products for joint health and inflammation. I recommend a veterinary exam to diagnosis the lameness. It is common for large breeds to have a cruciate ligament injury in the knee. He also may have hip dysplasia. Knowing the reason for the lameness will help you decide the treatment that is best to have him recover from the lameness. Please don't run him again until the lameness resolves or it could become worse. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Lugosi.
