My senior dog with kidney disease has mouth ulcers. What helps?

my 13 yr old rescue dog has kidney disease. She on vet prescription diet. She too frequently has ulcers in her mouth on her gums that bleed. Is there anything i could apply or give to her that would help the discomfort for her please. Pet's info: Dog | Bull Terrier | Female
