Dog discharge after mating: Is she pregnant, in heat, or infected?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 11 months old

My two dogs mated and they tied about 6 days ago and now my bitch is having some white discharge [not alot] she's other wise lively and eating her waist and stomach look slightly wider is this the end of her heat could she have an infection or is she possibly pregnant?.

Any of the above that you listed are possible causes for white discharge from the vagina. If there is small amounts and it is not particularly thick, it is unlikely that there is an infection. More likely that it is an indicator of the time in the estrous cycle or an indicator of early pregnancy. If she begins to become symptomatically ill at any point, have her examined by your veterinarian. Hope this helps.

    It is hard to say for sure. This is an appropriate age to start her heat cycle but usually you see a mild brown or red discharge. IT is possible the discharge is normal or a mild vaginitis has started. I would recommend just monitoring it for now. IF it increases in amount, Nyla is urinating in house, licking herself a lot I would recommend taking her to a vet to make sure she does not have an infection
