Is it normal for my dog to go into heat more than twice a year?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 5 years and 3 months old | 7 lbs

Is it normal for my dog to be in heat more than 2 a year. Last year bunz was in heat 4 times I believe

It is more common for them to only come into heat twice a year, but some do come into heat four times a year. As long as she is otherwise normal, I would not be concerned about any abnormalities causing this. If she is having lasting changes in behavior, or signs of illness, then I would be concerned and recommend a visit to the vet.
