Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 7 years and 2 months old | 75 lbs
My dog was fine earlier today. He is a pit bull/lab mix. He is drooling more than usual, drinking a large amount of water, has lack of energy, his breathing doesn’t seems out of ordinary and is acting out of character and was sneezing for the past two days. Don’t know if the vet is necessary or if we can do something for him at home.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Drooling can be a sign of nausea and this with a decreased activity level can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Rufus evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Drooling is often a sign of nausea. This may be transient and may resolve on its own. However, if this progresses to vomiting, an evaluation by a veterinarian would be recommended as vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. Good luck and have a good night!
