Why is my 7-month-old cat constantly drooling and in pain?

I would be concerned about Zapatitos being nauseas, having infection or trauma inside the mouth or even a toxin if possible exposure. I would recommend taking her to a vet to have a good detailed exam to help narrow down why Zapatitos is hyper salivating. It is important to look under her tongue and make sure string is not attached causing a foreign body. Also you can look in her mouth to make sure you do not see any type of sores. Sometimes cats will chew electrical wires and get burns in the mouth or even have viruses that cause ulcers. All of these things can cause hyper salivation. I think a vet visit is best to help Zapatitos feel better as soon as possible.

Typically excess salivation is either caused by nausea or pain (oral or abdominal), although this is not an all inclusive list. There can still be oral disease present, especially if these missing teeth were not removed but fell out. Cats can get resorptive lesions of their teeth which can be really painful and the changes can be hard for owners to detect. They can also get lesions in their mouth (stomatitis, a mass, ulcers, etc.) that an owner may not see. Additionally diseases of other body systems may cause drooling (kidneys, gi, etc ). Ingestion of a toxin, foreign object caught in the mouth, salivary gland disease, ulcers in the mouth, cancer of the mouth, neurological disorders, or eating something that tastes very bad. Excessive drooling is also a symptom of rabies. Many cats will chatter their teeth while watching birds or other prey animals; however, chattering could alos be an indication of pain or neurological in nature.

I suggest you take your kitty to a veterinarian tomorrow morning for an exam. He also may have a nasty calicivirus infection. If he lets you, you can try and have a thorough look in his mouth, but it is more likely that his mouth is painful. I will typically treat with anti-nausea medication to see if it helps. If not, make sure that he is not eating anything that he shouldn't (plants, etc). Blood near the mouth and drooling can point to a serious dental problem I suggest you take her back to your veterinarian for a recheck and exam of the mouth. She may also be teething, which can cause drooling. There are some infections, such as with Calicivirus or autoimmune disorders which cause mouth ulcers which in turn cause drooling. Poor Maizey! I would be concerned that she has a dental problem causing the sneezing, nasal discharge, drooling, and chewing motions that you are seeing. A dental problem such as a broken tooth or a tooth root abscess could be the cause of this, and it would lead to her drinking less water due to pain. If she is eating and drinking then it can wait to make an appointment with your regular vet, if not then you may need to talk to a emeregency clinic about being seen. The clear fluid is likely saliva. Hyper salivation can be caused by nausea, pain, dental problems, or exposure to toxins. Because I can't see Bella in person and evaluate her, I'm going to recommend you take her into your vet now to be safe. If she is eating normally, drinking normally, behaving normally, and going to the bathroom normally, you can wait until the morning to bring her. If she has stopped hyper salivating overnight, it's up to you if you want to bring her in for a check, but I would recommend it to be safe.
