My rabbit thumps when I enter the room. Is he scared or excited?

Every time I enter the room my rabbit (Buddy) thumps. What can I do to make him less scared?

Rabbits will thump for reasons other than fear. His thumping may be due to excitement at seeing you. Move slowly and speak softly around him. Try to announce yourself as you enter the room. Offer a small treat or snack each time so he associates good things with your entering the room.
