Why does my dog smell like something died after going outside?

My dogs left to the street and came back 6 min later . My whole front yard and inside my kitchen smells like if someone died . They didn't smell like that before then they left and when they came back it started to smell. Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 1 year old | 30 lbs

It sounds like your dogs might have rolled in something dead. Most dogs like rolling in stinky dead stuff...... Maybe they were sprayed by a skunk. If they got sprayed by a skunk de-skunk them as follows: http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/dogs/tips/de-skunking_dog.html If they rolled in something dead or feces, bathe them with a dog or horse shampoo, if you have some, or people shampoo, if you do not have a suitable pet shampoo.
