My snake has red blisters and open wounds. Is it a heating pad burn?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

He has blisters on his underside and they are red and look like open wound at this point. Is it a burn or something more serious? He has a heating pad in his tank and it maybe burned him? He has scales that are swollen and filled with a fluid. Any ideas?

This sounds and looks like a burn from possibly the heating pad or a heating lamp he may have been lying on. This needs to be treated by a veterinarian. Please take your snake to a vet tomorrow for an exam and treatment. Your snake will need pain medicine, and an ointment such as silversulfadiazine for burn wounds after cleaning and debridement .
