Jack didn’t eat dinner and i can hear his stomach gurgling from across the room (and he’s got some gas). When should I be concerned that this is more than an upset tummy? No diarrhea that we’ve seen.

An upset stomach is a common problem with puppies and is usually self-limiting (will go away on its own). It may not be serious right now, but it's always possible that it could be the start of something serious. If Jack has any of the following, then he should see a vet: 1) Blood in diarrhea 2) Very watery diarrhea 3) Starts acting very depressed 4) Stops eating or drinking for longer than 24 hours. 5) Diarrhea lasts longer than three days. You can try feeding bland food (boneless chicken and rice is good). Feed small portions (1/4 cup or less) three times a day. Ensure fresh, clean water is always available. I hope this helps and Jack gets better soon.

I am sorry to hear that your puppy is sick. The gurgling you hear in his stomach is probably a mixture of the food being processed, gas/gas bubbles, and possibly a little bit due to hunger. Once the diarrhea starts to clear up you can begin introducing puppy food, in small amounts, back into his diet. You could also try feeding him some plain boiled chicken and rice as this is very easy on the digestive tract. Feeding smaller meals more frequently may help his digestion and cut down on the sounds you are hearing from his tummy. If the diarrhea continues despite the medications you are giving him, or if he starts vomiting, then I would recommend taking him back in to the vet for a recheck. Best of luck!
