My dog has a front leg limp for 2 weeks, but no pain. What's next?

I have a very healthy 1 year old male English bulldog and he has a limp with his left front leg. He’s not yelping and doesn’t seem to be in any pain but it’s noticeable to me and he has been limping for 2 weeks. There are no noticeable splinters or thorns in his paw and he loves when I rub his shoulder. What should I do?

Good Evening. It sounds like it might be time to have your dog seen my your veterinarian. I'm a little worried that it has been going on for a while and he is still having problems. They will start with an exam and see if they can feel any swelling in the joints or can find any painful areas. Since it has been going on for a while they will probably want to take some xrays of the limb to make sure the bones and joints look normal. At the very least, they can prescribe him some pain medication. Since he is a young dog, he may be so active that he is not allowing a minor injury time to heal. Make sure to keep him rested and no jumping/playing until he can get seen. Leash walks only outside to keep him calmer as well. Good Luck and have a good night
