Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | spayed | 5 years and 11 months old | 13 lbs
I recently lost my husband of 14 years. We have 2 Chihuahuas 5 and 7 yrs old. I had to move home to Pa from Ga and I am living with a relative. My youngest dog has turned into a barking, possessive crazy dog. She barks viciously at everyone to the point that I can not walk her in the neighborhood for fear that we will pass a stranger with a dog. She is also mean to my other dog, attacking her with very little provocation. I know she misses her Daddy and our home with a huge yard. Help!!

I would recommend taking Mia to the park and get her energy out of her. The more you exercise her and get her energy out the better. This will make her as tired as possible which will make her less inclined to have the energy to bark. I would also talk to your veterinarian about anxiety medication. This was a big transition for her and she may need time to adjust to the change. I am so incredibly sorry for your loss and wish you peace in your time of need. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
