My guinea pig has fur loss and red patches. Is it a fungal infection?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Guinea Pig | Female | unspayed | 1lb

Hi I purchased a Guinea Pig last Friday and the next day I had noticed what I thought were “dry booger’s” but since then she has been losing s bit of fur above her nose and there are dry red patches as well, I’m wondering if I should bring her back to the store I got her and have a vet take a look at her? She is acting fine, eating well, lots of energy and doesn’t seem to be bothered by it but I’m worried it could be fungal from what I’ve been reading online. Thanks!!

Thanks for reaching out about Ophelia and including a photo. Seems like a possible fungal infection and you should take back to the store. It is possibly zoonotic (transmissible to humans). Good luck.
