My cat was bitten and has a swollen eye. Is it serious? What to do?

My neighbors cat got bitten by we think a black widow. The poor baby three days later still is swollen and her eye looks like she gonna lose it. What do you think bite her? Will it kill her? What do I do if my cat gets bitten do avoid getting so sick and losing an eye.

Hello. I do not know if you tried to include a picture, but nothing came through. I doubt it was a black widow, but I have seen cats bitten by snakes, Brown Recluse spiders, & of course, other cats. If this is so worrisome that you think she may lose her eye, then you must find a way to have her examined by a veterinarian. If finances are a problem, please check out https://www.carecredit.com or https://www.scratchpay.com or even see if a family member or friend can help out. I do hope Bandit will get seen soon. Thanks for using PetCoach.
