Why is my Morkie licking, peeing inside, and drinking a lot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Morkie | Female | unspayed | 10 years and 1 month old | 9 lbs

Trying to see what’s wrong with my dog a 10 year old Morkie. Lately she’s been lethargic yet moving around, although she’s housebroken she had a few accidents (pee) , she has been licking her genitals, there was a light reddish discharge , she’s a picky eater and wants only cooked food now, and she drinks a lot of water.

Poor girl. It sounds like she may have a urinary tract infection, that is not affected her systemically. UTI's cause excessive drinking and urination, and often accidents in the home b/c it is hard for the pet to hold their bladder if the bladder is inflamed. I would highly recommend taking Lulu to your vet to have her urine checked. Bloodwork analysis may also be recommended to check her organ functions as well. I hope that your fur baby Lulu feels better soon! Best wishes and take care.
