My cat is scared of kids downstairs. How can I make her comfortable?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Female | spayed | 10 months and 7 days old

I have a 10 month old Ragdoll and she is seriously scared of going downstairs to my family (of 5 small children). My kids have never hurt Ella (the kitten), but they do run around a lot. I don't want her to be scared to come downstairs whenever I come down (she follows me everywhere). What can I do to make her comfortable with coming down? Thanks!

There are many natural calming diets and supplements which can be very helpful as can pheromone diffusers. I would recommend bringing her down at quieter times and acclimatising her to the area, creating a covered hiding area for her to retreat to if needed
