My semi-feral cat fights. Should I neuter him and get a health check?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

I have been feeding a male cat that is semi=feral. I believe he was owned by a lady or man who lived down the street from me and passed away 4 or so years ago. He has been fighting with other male cats for the last few months and I was thinking about trapping him and having him neutered to hopefully make him less belligerent with my mostly indoor cats and another stray that I have been feeding for a little over a year now. He may have other medical issues.

I think that is a lovely idea! How great of you to want to look after him. Have blood tests and a urinalysis done at the vet first before neutering and introducing him to your cats to make sure he is healthy. Best of luck.
