There's no injection for fleas that I am aware of at this time (I have a cat that could sure use it is there were), but there are a number of very effective topical and oral flea preventatives that are available through your vet. The most effective one I have seen so far for dogs is Comfortis. It is an oral pill that will start killing fleas within 30 minutes of dosage and lasts for a month. Ask your vet what they recommend and see what seems like the best fit for you and your pet.
