It is possible, though it looks more like it could be a bacterial infection. Ideally, take her in to the vet for an exam so that the proper treatment can be determined. If you want to try something at home, you can try this product: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/vetericyn-plus-wound-and-skin-care-for-dogs However, if it is not improving within a few days, please get her in to see your vet. Thanks for asking PetCoach!

It could be related to the mange but could also be caused by a skin infection or possibly a flea allergy dermatitis. You could bathe her with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. Inspect her for fleas and treat her with a flea medication, like NexGard, Frontline, or Revolution every month. Otherwise, she needs to be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can do a skin scrape, cytology, or culture to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to help treat the problem.

That is probably a reaction of the skin from mange. They will most likely disappear with the healing process. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. If spreading and not resolving in 4 days a check up would be necessary to understand the underlying cause (it could be due to a secondary skin infection). Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
