Why is my spayed cat licking red spots on her old incision area?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed

Hi! My cat was spayed three months ago and I just noticed some red spots on the incision area. The hair hasn’t grown back and she recently started licking it.

I would guess that these skin ulcerations are from licking and not related to the surgery three months ago. I’d recommend having your vet take a look in person. It’s possible that Beezus has allergies or another skin condition causing a secondary skin infection.
